Amritha Jaishankar serves as the Executive Director of IQVIA’s Cell and Gene Therapy Center, where she is focused on accelerating preclinical/clinical development and commercialization of cell and gene therapies for companies and research institutions. In her role, Dr. Jaishankar also develops and leads an integrated, collaborative approach to supporting IQVIA’s cell and gene portfolio through disruptive innovation, early engagement, strategic partnerships and other growth initiatives. She brings over 18 years of experience in developing, executing and leading stem cell/cell therapy programs in academic, non-profit, government and industry settings. Her measurable impact, roles on numerous boards and committees, and experience as a stem cell scientist have made Dr. Jaishankar a proven leader and champion for cell therapy research and commercialization.
Dr. Jaishankar’s leadership, her relentless pursuit of innovation and her unique approach to global collaborations and partnerships have been integral to advancing research, development, and commercialization of promising regenerative medicine technologies.
She previously served as the Executive Director of the Maryland Stem Cell Research Fund where her leadership, passion, and knowledge were instrumental in establishing her organization as Maryland’s leading organization to identify, invest in and foster cell-based technologies. She led the fund to its highest visibility and budget in over a decade and developed Maryland’s first cell therapy manufacturing assistance program. Dr. Jaishankar’s work has supported over 200 academic and industry projects, moved well over 100 technologies towards commercialization, and helped create and grow numerous companies.c
