Steven B. Miller
Dr. Miller is Chief Clinical Officer of Cigna Corporation where he leads all of the company’s clinical policy, quality, and performance efforts. He formerly served as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Express Scripts, where he focused on supporting government relations, leading the Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee, managing the Medical Affairs team, leading their Government Affairs organization, and interfacing with client groups.
Previously, Dr. Miller served as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Dr. Miller received his medical degree from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, trained as a Fellow in Pathology and Research at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, and as the William J. and Dorothy Fish Kerr Fellow in cardiology at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Miller was appointed a Nephrology Fellow at Washington University School of Medicine and remains on the faculty. Dr. Miller also served as medical director of the BJC/WUSM Renal Network.
Dr. Miller has his master’s degree in business administration from Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Miller is a frequent international speaker and has published over 80 scientific articles in the areas of acute and chronic renal failure, transplantation, hypertension and medical economics.
